Destruction of data

Out Of Use ensures the security of your data by means of certified destruction.

Out Of Use destroys these hard discs by manual and machine processes which maximizes the yield of secondary raw materials along with minimizing environmental effects based on environmental regulations.

We have 4 security levels: Level 0, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.

Level 0: this is the default level. If a customer does not request any data wiping , we assume that all data has been removed and we do not perform any data destruction.

Level 1: normal, mechanical destruction during recycling of the material. This treatment is not certified since part of the destruction may be performed by a contractor.

Level 2 and 3: garanteed destruction performed by Out Of Use itself.

The difference between Level 2 and 3 is related to the transport, procedures and treatment.

All data media such as hard disks and drives are mechanically destroyed so that it is almost impossible to recover data afterwards. During the process all hard disks are destroyed to the minimum standard for DMS 2008 HDD physical destruction. Class A for Level 1 and DIN66399 class H5 for Level 2.

After processing your equipment we will send you, when requested, a certificate of destruction attesting that the products have been destroyed making all reuse impossible and that the hard disks were processed according to the WEEE directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic devices.
